Once Upon A Time

Walnut Hill was once my childhood playground. The barns were my play houses, the chicken coup was the best hiding place, and the lake was where I perfected my swimming skills. As I grew up this piece of land was were I would go to get away from the world and find peace. I hope you find a little for yourself here too.

In 2019 we began hosting weddings at our family estate. When this all began I thought we would do a few weddings a year and it would be a small part time job while I stayed home with our newborn son Phillip. Well I never could have imagine how we would grow! In 2020 we welcomed our daughter Audrey, navigated covid with our couples, and built our home just ½ a mile from the venue. It was a scary year but here we are with more weddings than I ever could have hoped for on the horizon. Walnut Hill is not only full time for me, but my husband Scott joined the company in 2022!

HI! We are Amanda and Scott Peoples and we are the husband and wife team behind Walnut Hill. After three years of building this business from the ground up I knew it was time to bring in more help as we took on more weddings than we ever dream of. And who better than my own husband?! It has been a leap of faith putting everything into this business, but it has been a wonderful experience for our family. We are beyond lucky to have our amazing venue managers Baylee and Sara on site during events. To find people who care about your business as much as you do is rare. These amazing woman will forever be part of our family and we are thankful everyday for their hard work and dedication that allows us to spend time with our two little ones. 

Sara has nearly a decade's worth of experience in the wedding industry, initially discovering her love for all things events while working with a local caterer as a senior in high school. 

Scott is a former Army Officer that specializes in project management, operations, and logistics. He recently left his job as a Project Manager at SAS Institute to help his wife, Amanda, manage the family business of Walnut Hill full-time.

Amanda has a background in luxury customer service from her years working at some of Raleigh's landmark businesses such as The Umstead and Bailey's Fine Jewelry. She then moved to the events industry working with Party Reflections before opening Walnut Hill.
